Iwama kihon
There are two useful assumptions to have during Aikido; the assumption of a weapon present and the assumption multiple attackers.
This is different from actually dealing with a weapon (e.g. tanken dori) or handling multiple attackers. This is about training with a single unarmed uke without creating an opening for a use of a hidden knife and maintaining awareness in all directions.
I believe that both are present in the Iwama kihon training.

What causes someone to make categorical statements about something he or she is completely ignorant about?
Here is an extended muppet list: "Aikido is one of the oldest and most widely-used martial arts forms in the world"
Update: the page has changed now to something less outlandish:
"Aikido is the modern Japanese martial art developed between the 1920 to 1960 by Morihei Ueshiba..."
